Hypo-allergenic
It is not widely known that linen is a non-allergenic cloth. One of linens natural properties is to repel bacterial growth making it perfect for bedding. If you have sensitive skin and suffer from dermatitis or other similar conditions linen is known to sooth the skin.
Durability
Linen is naturally more durable than cotton. It is up to 30% stronger than cotton. This is due to the yarn being thicker but also a longer fibre resulting in less breakage. Linen sheets if cared for properly will only start showing wear after 2-3 years and can last up to 2-3 decades before need replaced.
Sustainability
Linen is also a very sustainable option for sheeting. Not only for is durability and longevity, but it is ecofriendly. Linen comes from the flax plant, which is a hardy plant, that can grow in poor quality soil and also requires little water compared to cotton. Linen is also biodegradable making it one of the greenest fabric available.
